How to apply for Master of Psychology degree

Applications for Master of Psychology (Counselling) and Master of Psychology (Educational & Developmental) close on 31 October each year.

Note:
If you wish to apply for any other postgraduate degree in the Faculty of Education, please see How to apply for a postgraduate course.

Step 1 - Application (by 31 October)

Step 2 - Confidential referee reports (by 6 November)

Within 10 days of submitting the online application, or no later than 6 November, applicants must submit the following forms directly to the Clayton Faculty Office:

Please ensure your application is complete and all documentation is submitted on time. Incomplete applications cannot be considered.

Step 3 - Short listing (mid-November)

  • Applicants are ranked on all selection criteria.
  • Short-listed applicants will be contacted to arrange a selection interview between mid-November and early December.
  • Applicants not short listed for the interview will be notified in writing of the outcome of their application.

Step 4 - Selection interviews (mid-November - early December)

Step 5 - First round offers (early December)

  • First round offers are mailed out by early December.
  • Applicants are asked to respond within two weeks of receiving their offer.

Step 6 - Second round offers (late December - mid-January)

  • Second round offers are made in stages as applicants respond to first round offers.
  • All applicants are notified of the outcome of their application by the end of January.
