The Bachelor of Adult Learning and Development offers a contemporary, cutting-edge approach to workplace and community education and development. The program is designed for people without an existing university qualification who are already working in adult education (TAFE, private or ACE providers, or industry/corporate sector training and development programs).
What will I learn?
You will examine adult learning theory and methods, workplace learning and development, program design and delivery, flexible learning and multimedia, and innovation and sustainability. You will be able to use this knowledge to improve adult learning outcomes, contributing to the development of individuals, organisations, industry, and local and global communities.
Who is the program suited to?
The program is well suited to adult educators in TAFE and Registered Training Organisations, community education providers, program coordinators, staff development and human resource practitioners, training consultants, and the broad spectrum of people who facilitate adult learning and development, such as workplace mentors, careers and job advisors, and human service professionals (e.g. nurses, counsellors and police officers).
How is the program delivered?
This program is delivered at the Clayton campus in flexible study mode to enable people with work and family commitments to complete it in just two years of full time study. This is achieved by the recognition of prior learning (RPL) for the first year of the degree in the form of relevant workplace or community experience, and post-school qualifications.
Commonwealth Supported Places available
There are limited Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) available to Australian and New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents and holders of humanitarian visas. Students granted a CSP make a partial contribution to the total cost of their education, with the Commonwealth government funding the balance. For further information on CSP and student contribution amounts visit the Going to Uni website.
