This pre-course orientation program for international and local students beginning the Graduate Diploma in Education for secondary teaching will be held over three days, beginning Monday the 23rd and ending on the morning of Wednesday the 25th  February, 2009. The program will be held in Room G29 of Building 6 at Monash University, Clayton and one of the days will involve observation in school – transport from Clayton to the proposed school can be arranged.

It is designed for students who are not familiar with the system of education in Victoria, and also for those who would like to know more about issues related to the use of English as the language of instruction in secondary schools and to cultural and organisational aspects (including curriculum and classroom management) of education in schools here.  The program is outlined below.

Ongoing support concurrent with the program is also provided during the year (group activities on a weekly basis and individual or small group consultations). Details will be announced at orientation, but classes will be held weekly from 1-2 on Mondays and Tuesdays in Room 304A in Building 6 at Clayton.
