Research committee

This Committee is a Standing Committee of the Faculty Board and advises the Dean and the Associate Dean (Research). It is responsible for oversight of research and research training in the Faculty, drafting relevant Faculty policy in relation to research and research training and making recommendation to Faculty Board on research policy and on relevant courses and units.

Reporting

Membership of the Committee, agendas and minutes will be placed on the Faculty Web site, agendas at least one full working day prior to meetings. Reports will be made to Faculty Board twice annually.

Terms of Office

Elected members will normally hold office for two years and nominated members for one year.

Terms of Reference

  1. To contribute to the implementation of the Operational Plan of the Faculty of Education
  2. To develop an annual work plan for approval by Faculty Executive
  3. To foster and develop research activity amongst staff and students across the Faculty and to develop and maintain a policy framework for evaluating research productivity of faculty staff
  4. To advise the Dean, Executive Committee and Faculty Board on research policy for the Faculty consistent with the Monash University Research Management Plan
  5. To monitor adherence to University and Faculty policies for developing, evaluating and enhancing research activity including benchmarking
  6. To recommend to Faculty Executive on budget and resource requirements, including ICT, to support research and research training in the Faculty
  7. To develop a policy framework for the distribution of budget allocations to support research activity and to oversee the distribution of those funds to staff and students
  8. To report twice annually to the Executive Committee and Faculty Board

Terms of reference will be evaluated after two years.
