Abstract:
This book is organized around ways of illustrating how, through an ongoing research project examining the nature of mentoring, participants' experience of mentoring or being mentored is captured. The book highlights how vignettes, which comprise the core of the book, have been developed and might be used, gives some insights into the mentoring relationship and presents the vignettes from mentors and mentorees. These vignettes can be interrogated and the type of issues that might be valuable to explore through their reading can be identified. There are also reflections from other important stakeholders in this research project such as authorities (eg. The Department of Education), the interviewers and researchers themselves. It is intended that readers can "jump in and out" of this book in ways to suit their reading and their needs.
This is an interesting book of value to leaders of professional development and mentoring and preservice and inservice teachers.
