Work and Learning Across Boundaries - research group

Work and Learning Across Boundaries is a social laboratory that investigates educational work in global times.

Our goal is to build evidence-based understandings of:

• Educational work, workforces and the practical politics of work and learning - past, present and future;
• Transformations in educational work in a globally connected and mobile world where 'learning' is seen as a foundational competence required by citizens, communities and societies on a global scale; and
• Challenges, changes and future directions for teaching occupations to support innovation and inclusion in knowledge economies and learning societies.

We encourage Learning Across Boundaries as a research, teaching and action learning methodology that offers new insights and practical problem solving related to:

1. Changing contexts and work-learning transitions
2. Reform strategies, institution-identity building and their implications for occupational boundary work
3. Processes of doing educational work, and the division of labour between teachers, administrators, allied professionals, educational leaders and researchers, that build the capacities and capabilities of children and adults for work, life and citizenship.
