Pedagogy and Professional Learning - research groupThis node conducts research into practice aimed at developing and refining understandings of teaching and learning. Through a sharp focus on pedagogy, the development and articulation of the resultant knowledge forms the basis of richer understandings of the nature of professional learning. Researchers in the Pedagogy and Professional Learning group conduct studies into curriculum development, enhancing professional practice (e.g. reflective practice), teacher education, teacher research and the knowledge base of teaching, as well as education policy and approaches to education in diverse settings. Research is directed towards enhancing learning about teaching across a range of programs and curriculum areas (e.g. from science through to SOSE and music) and in different educational institutions and communities.
