Global Knowledge @ Work - Research

This research strength no longer exists. Please see our list of current research areas within the Faculty of Education.

The membership of this strength comprises a number of internationally renowned and high profile researchers who are providing significant global leadership in their particular fields of expertise. Taken together, they combine a range of research strengths. Cluster members are engaged in an interesting variety of projects, the research outcomes of which are having significant implications for policy and practice. The critical mass of scholarly endeavour within the cluster encompasses a number of analytical levels.

Globally and nationally, projects and research incorporate the dimensions and impact of global movements and internationalisation, including comparative higher education, knowledge and people flows, forms of indigenous knowledge, impact of transnational agencies on cultures and policies, knowledge transfer, and the diffusion of policies, models of policy-making and practices.

Systemically and organisationally, cluster research projects include the activities, processes and practices of a diversity of workplaces. These projects encompass policy, management and leadership generally and in particular sectors (e.g., education, policing). Examples of current research priorities include capability development and capacity building, sustainability, leadership recruitment and succession, resilience, emotional ways of knowing, mentoring, organisational learning and knowledge management.
