This strength brings together researchers interested in the study of children across a range of environments, cultures, and disciplines. This strength combines the diverse research interests of education staff concerned with the education, health and wellbeing of children from birth to twelve years. The group is made up of scholars with expertise in constructivism, critical theory and socio-cultural theory, working together with the community to create rich and complex research projects aimed at better understanding the child and the context in which the learner is embedded. Research interests include curriculum, pedagogy, schooling, early literacy and numeracy development, information and communication technologies in education and music, science and art education.
