Work and Learning Studies - Research in the Faculty of Education
This research strength no longer exists. Please see our list of current research areas within the Faculty of Education.
This research cluster and Centre focuses on learning after compulsory schooling by young and older adults in work-related and life-world contexts. It has a strong emphasis on adult pedagogies and education for global citizenship and transformation, involving explorations of new learning spaces where conventional institutional culture and practices are being reshaped. This cluster is engaged in research that investigates adults' learning and adult education in local-global contexts; the spaces of meaning, challenge and transformations in work, life and citizenship; the implications of knowledge economy policy and institutional arrangements on adult learning, educational work and workplace and community development; and the educational practices that support adults' learning in different learning spaces. |
