Collegial and academic support for researchers

Social and scholarly interaction

Researchers in the Faculty, whether students or staff, have many opportunities for social and scholarly interaction. These include activities organized by the Monash Education Research Community (MERC, formerly ERCSS), which can be seen on their website. The research Seminars and events are another, as is the Research Winter School in July each year.

Thesis writing

See Proposal and thesis writing for guidance with issues of organisation and expression in thesis writing.

Research students' Liaison Officer

The Research students' Liaison Officer offers support to research students who are experiencing difficulties with their study. These may be difficulties with supervision, with organization or with any other aspect of their research. Students are assisted to access support services offered by the Faculty or by the University. In the case of supervision difficulties, the HDR student Liaison Officer may be involved in mediation between student and supervisor. All issues raised are in confidence.
