Biography

Libby Tudball lectures and teaches in the double degree undergraduate and post-graduate education programs in the Faculty of Education. She is the lecturer in charge of Social Education method, and has taught subjects including Social Foundations of Schooling, Teaching and learning, The Teachers' World and Developing Pedagogy. Libby's PhD focused on the function of professional communities and their connection with improved student learning in Civics and Citizenship Education. Her other research interests include the internationalisation of education, global education and teacher professional development. In 2000, she received a Federal government National Academic Achievement Award for her work in teacher professional development in Civics and Citizenship Education (CCE). Libby developed with colleagues, the Victorian Professional Development program for teachers in CCE, and is involved nationally in teacher professional development (PD) and the pre-service training of teachers in CCE. She is currently redeveloping the CCE PD program with colleague Anita Forsyth.

Libby is the President of the Social Educators Association of Australia, and a life member and active participant in Social Education Victoria. She is a regular writer for the Australian Teachers of Media.
