Biography

Deanna joined the Faculty of Education at Monash University in January 2008 where she coordinates courses in Leadership and Organisation and Managing Change for the Master of Organisational Leadership. She also coordinates the International Education Markets unit.

Research Interests

Deanna is a sociologist of higher education. She is currently writing a book that investigates academic units' adaptation and resistance to changing operating environments. This meso-level study draws on a range of theoretical frameworks including resource dependency theory, neo-institutional theory, mimetic isomorphism, path dependence and complex adaptive systems theory especially the concepts of emergence and non-linear feedback loops.

  • Deanna represents the Faculty of Education on the Research Data Management Advisory Group.
