2007 placement experience at Kambrya College, Berwick
Fifteen secondary education students from the Faculty of Education have recently completed their placements at Kambrya College in Berwick. Principal Ian McKenzie firmly believes in the value of the placements system. "Kambrya College, a proud State school, has a moral obligation to support education faculty students on their journey to becoming teachers,” Mr McKenzie said. “We are delighted we can play this vital role and look forward to a continued partnership." "The mentoring I received from two dedicated Year 7 teachers was invaluable and inspirational to my development as a teacher. I admire Kambryas philosophy, especially its commitment to the pre-service placement program." "I came out of the placement knowing that I really wanted to be a teacher." "Kambrya gave me the opportunity to verify this is my future, the life for me. This experience was exciting, challenging and profoundly rewarding." "The best thing about Kambrya College was the teachers. Most were very supportive and friendly and gave me good advice for my teaching, class management and jobs. There were more than 30 student teachers at the college and I believe all of us felt the same."
