The placement process is your real-world introduction to a rewarding career in education. It’s the chance to put what you have learnt into practice, get valuable guidance from others, and grow as a teacher.

  • Five students commence their initial placements at Frankston Primary School in 2008
    Five GradDipEd (Primary) students, each with their own stories of previous experience and future ambitions, commence their initial placements at Frankston Primary School in 2008.
  • Back to school for two double degree students
    For Bachelor of Education (Primary) students like Laura Wapling and Jessica Gazzo, practicum placement is a chance to test their learning before a class of eager school children, and become familiar with the school environment. But even before they started their placement at Edithvale Primary School, they already knew the school like the back of their hands.
  • The Maningrida teaching experience 2007
    Ten Monash students accompanied by Dr Glenn Auld were welcomed Indigenous style when they arrived for a three-week placement experience to Maningrida, a remote Indigenous Australian community in Arnhem Land. The students are an eclectic group drawn from Secondary, Primary and Early childhood courses and are all placed at Maningrida Community Education Centre which provides education from preschool to Year 12.
  • 2007 placement experience at Kambrya College, Berwick
    Fifteen secondary education students from the Faculty of Education have recently completed their placements at Kambrya College in Berwick. Principal Ian McKenzie firmly believes in the value of the placements system.
