This pathway is designed to meet the needs of teachers or prospective teachers from overseas who are qualified and who do not wish to teach in Australia. Students will develop an understanding of the theory and practice of teaching English as a second language in a range of contexts (primary, secondary, tertiary and the workplace), in a country where English is not the official language. Specialist units include: theory and practice of TESOL; issues in curriculum design and assessment in second and foreign languages; and professional practice for teachers of English as a foreign language.
