How complete and relevant is this course information?

  • Students who commenced their studies prior to 2009 should check their course requirements in the Archived handbook for the relevant year, or contact their Course/Pathway Adviser.

This pathway is designed to meet the needs of primary, secondary, adult educators, principals and health professionals interested in developing professional skills for supporting people with a diverse range of special needs. It is also suitable for educators who wish to meet the requirements for employment in special schools.  If you wish to teach special education in Australian schools, you must have a separate recognised teaching qualification.

Students may graduate with a Postgraduate Diploma of Education - Inclusive and special education specialisation after completing 48 credit points comprising of the following units:
