Education student with disability receives an Academic Excellence Award in 2007
HUMCASS student, John De Sousa-daw
(Encouragement Award) and
Education student Di Hammond
(Academic Excellence Award)
Students with a long-term medical condition or disability often excel at University, but are hindered by their condition in attaining scholarships. In recognition of this, departments, schools and faculties at Monash University Gippsland campus and the Acting Pro-Vice Chancellor, Associate Professor Harry Ballis, have each year provided generous support in awarding two students with a disability. This year's recipients are:
- HUMCASS student, John De Sousa-daw (Encouragement Award) and
- Education student Di Hammond (Academic Excellence Award).
These students were presented with their awards as part of the Excellence in Disability Support Awards ceremony held at Gippsland campus on Thursday 6th September. These annual awards recognise exceptional support to a student or staff member with a disability, or for disability issues.
